Nate was up against more than just about anyone I've ever interacted with--his mental and physical health were so bad that he could barely function, his wife wasn't on board with whole food plant based nutrition and even after several years he still hates cooking.

But he didn't let any of that keep him stuck and has made a tremendous turn around. If you haven't already, make sure you listen to part 1 of this interview first in Episode 11!

Don't you just love how Nate didn't allow any of that to keep him stuck?

Our brain naturally wants to keep us from making changes and doing things that are uncomfortable. When we want to change our eating one of the thoughts that is often quick to come up is some variation of this won't work because my family won't do it. Now we all do this, but once we become aware of it we are able to think a little more rationally and find ways to figure out the hurdles instead of allowing our brain to make them seem bigger than they are!

I love how he pointed out that he wanted to make excuses and blame his family for making it harder for him, but he simply kept going!

And I just love his wife for all that she's done through this process, and this is the most important thing--Nate started this journey to pull himself out of a really dark place, but now his transformation is beginning to have a positive impact for his wife and children. So when your brain starts telling you that it's too hard and you can't do it, remember Nate. It's been about a 3 year journey for him, and definitely not one that was always smooth or downhill. But he stuck with it and now is experiencing more benefits than he ever anticipated.
