On this episode of the Chasin’ 28 podcast, the main focus was about the news that the New York Yankees are shuffling their minor league affiliates around as their Double-A affiliate is now the Somerset Patriots. Also, their High-A affiliate is the Hudson Valley Renegades and Tampa moves down to Low-A. This week, Ricky Keeler was joined by Alexis Farinacci, founder Robert M. Pimpsner, and our Trenton/now Somerset beat writer, Matt Kardos.

The first part of the show focused on the changes and the impact they can have on the Yankees system, whether it is the proximity to Yankee Stadium or how it can improve development in terms of getting used to cold weather in April or keeping players down in Tampa when they start their pro careers.

This week, our special guest was the vice president of public relations for the Somerset Patriots, Marc Russinoff. Marc gives the listeners an insight into the ballpark experience in Somerset, their impact on the community, and what it means to the organization to now be affiliated with the New York Yankees.

In the second part of the show, we look into what could have gone wrong for Trenton and Staten Island. What are their futures like in terms of hosting another team and we look back at our favorite memories covering those teams.
