PiCast Episode 26 - WhedonopolisCon 2016

Scott and Brittany went to the inaugural WhedonopolisCon in Van Nuys. On this episode we recap our adventures at this great first year convention. Held at the Airtel Hotel in Van Nuys in support of the Fandom Charities.

Friday started off with a work meeting for Scott that left some LA Shopping time for Brittany. She revisited the storefront of Sidecca from Dapper day and made some good purchases.

We talk about the lead up to this con and meeting Organizer Marsia Powers of Whednopolis.com at many other conventions. We compare this con to GallifreyOne.

One highlight were the actors under the make up, Doug Jones and Camden Toy, who interacted with the conventioneers all weekend.

The panels were fun at this con including: Cosplay for all ages with new friends @cosplaymolly, @aunttessieCosplay @KimposterCosplay and Nathan and William, The Buffy 2.0 panel featuring the Sunnydale Study Group @ssgpodcast, and the Conman Panel, Shield and Agent Carter.

We cosplayed Dr. Horrible and Penny on Saturday and Sunday and even danced at the Prom at the Bronze to the sound of the Firefly inspired music of the Falling Stars.

We bought awesome art and merch from cool people like:

The Dr. Horrible show was sadly cancelled but we still got to sing along with Once More With Feeling as the con closed Sunday.
