On Episode 8 of the Philosophical Weightlifting podcast I was joined by Glenn Pendlay. Coach Pendlay is one of the best weightlifting coaches this country has seen, producing an incredible amount of national champions. Plus, he was a great athlete in his own right. Coach Pendlay has front squatted 550 lbs for 5, benched over 500 lbs, snatched 375 lbs, cleaned 463 lbs, and push pressed 440 lbs. That’s just to name a few of his best lifts.

Coach Pendlay is also an intellectual, receiving his Master’s degree from Midwestern Statue University in Wichita Falls where he also coached former junior American record holder, Caleb Ward. Since then he has coached at Cal Strength, MDUSA, and is now back in his home state of Kansas.

In this episode we discussed many things. A few of those include: research Coach Pendlay was involved with at MSU, how to train hard, what weightlifters can learn from Louie Simmons, the worst mistake Glenn had made as an athlete, Glenn’s recommended resources, and much more.

This was another awesome show guys and I am so excited to have this opportunity. Thanks for listening and if you enjoy what you heard give us a like, share, and subscribe for future episodes.
