When I was first starting out, I did everything alone. I've always been a fiercely independent woman who didn't feel like I needed anybody to succeed and have always had the mindset that I could definitely figure things out on my own. If I just tried hard enough and put enough time into researching it and trying things and not being afraid to fail, I really have never let anything hold me back and saying that that's a bad thing.
[00:00:29] Bye. Any means, but it can be a really lonely thing. And if you are one of those people who tends to do stuff on your own, who honestly probably is supporting all of the people around you, if you're you're the main supporter and lots of people depend on you, but you don't really have somebody or a group of people who are there to support you back in that same way.
[00:00:56] Then you're missing out on one of the biggest benefits and frankly, the most rewarding joys that you can get in this life from creating a community around you, that you can be a part of at that can support each other. Because here's what I know. If you want to be strong, you need to belong. Right. If you want to go your furthest and you want to perform at your highest level, having a community that is there to support you in the thick and the thin, especially when things are hard, a safe place where you can be vulnerable.
[00:01:37] And when people can remind you of who you are, that is the best way. To regain your momentum and to regain your clarity and to move forward in your business when you're feeling stuck or you're feeling down, or you're just struggling and burned out or whatever it is, it's when, and we belong and have that community, then we can be strong even when we are struggling.
[00:02:03] So. And that's what I want to talk about today is all about creating a community of people around you to support you and finding the right people, because not everybody is the right person to support you in your online business. three years ago, I joined impact mastermind, which is run by Stu McLaren. And it's a phenomenal mastermind the very first meeting we had where everybody was new and none of us knew each other Stu went around and had each of us share why we had joined the mastermind.
[00:03:06] as people went around and were sharing the reasons for joining many of them, or to become better leaders or to learn a certain tactic or to absorb more of Stew's amazing knowledge or whatever it was.
[00:03:19] And it came to me. I was brutally honest. It's still kind of makes me laugh to this day because it sounds a little pathetic, but I just basically yeah. Said I was struggling to find friends and a community that really understood what I did online, who really supported me that could understand the scale and the magnitude at which I was working.
[00:03:46] And I was willing to pay multiple five figures per year to be surrounded by people who understood what I was doing in the online space. And hopefully. Could become my friends. Like I literally said, I paid all this money because I need friends in the online world and I love Stu and I know that he attracts the kind of people that are my people and I want to be involved.
[00:04:11] And so, I mean, it was, it was brutally honest. It was totally honest. And honestly it has not disappointed. And it has been such a rewarding experience for me. In fact, part of the reason that I was even thinking about this and wanted to podcast about it is because we are meeting right now this month. Again, we meet three times a year and it's been such a vital part of my business experience over the last three years.
[00:04:40] It has shaped me more than anything and frankly, This year with everything that has happened with my business, being a COVID casually and going from a seven figure a year business to literally starting a brand new business from scratch in a new market with no audience and living through seeing that I could not revive my business no matter how much I tried because the market was so.
[00:05:11] Injured. Right. I had never been through an experience like that before. And if it had not been for my friends in the impact mastermind, who fully understood the pressures of an online business and what I was going through, and they understood the ramifications of what was happening with COVID well, before most people saw this, I don't know if I would have made it.
[00:05:33] Like, part of me was really tempted by the idea of finding a full time job. Just selling my house, like moving away from this lifestyle. And, you know, sometimes it's kind of stressful. If you buy a bigger house, then you've got to keep making bigger money. Right. We had the seven figure lifestyle and all of a sudden our income was gone and it was.
[00:05:55] Terrifying. It was literally terrifying. And if you go back to season two, you can listen to how I walked through that and the way that I processed it and how I made the pivot and move moved forward. As I've looked back over the last few months, and even now I, as I'm recording this, I'm only seven weeks into having started this new business fully. Like I did the beta course along with trying to revive my old business back in may and June, but it really got my scraps.
[00:06:23] It was the leftovers of my time. I mean, it's a great program in the beta course. It really helped transform the people who were in it, but it wasn't my main focus. My main focus back then was trying to revive my old business and get it back and profitable again. And it just didn't work. And so seven weeks ago today as I'm recording this, I started over from scratch.
[00:06:44] I let go completely of the old business and started. Over now. And if it hadn't been for my friends in the mastermind, who constantly reminded me who I was, that I was capable, that anxiety and fear was absolutely normal, but that I could do this. I don't know if I would have been able to do it in the same way.
[00:07:05] I certainly know that I would not have been as successful as I had been being. All ready. Um, and so that has been a massive, massive benefit that I can't even put a number on. You know, like when people think about investing in masterminds or investing in communities, It's really hard to explain the value because it's not always a direct return on investment.
[00:07:31] Like yes, every single year. Absolutely. I either get one experience or I have one conversation that makes me far more money than I pay to be part of this mastermind. So for example, last November, I was trying to figure out. Um, how to do something with my evergreen funnel and I was struggling with it. And I was talking to another gal, Sonia stringer.
[00:07:55] Who's a dear friend of mine. Hi Sonya. If you're listening. Um, she had giving me one suggestions. She's like, have you thought about doing this? And it changed. Everything for me. And that one suggestion made me $32,000 over the next week. That one suggestion. And it happened to be the thing that I fixed my funnel that made it start working.
[00:08:20] All right. Remember I talked about how sometimes you've just got one little thing off and you just gotta figure out what that one thing is. And then everything falls into place. That's what I talked about in the last episode. So go back and catch that if you missed it, that was the one thing I needed.
[00:08:34] And so, yeah, that's a tangible return on investment that I can measure. And every year I have at least one of those. So this is by far the best investment, just from like a financial standpoint, but more than anything, I cannot measure how much that support has meant to me. And I can't measure how much further along I am, because I am surrounding myself by other people who are the kind of people that I want to be.
[00:09:04] I am surrounding myself with the brightest entrepreneurs in this industry who are doing incredible things and have the same values as me. The conversations that we have are around. Impact. Yes, they're around profit too, but they're often around impact and how we can truly make a difference in the world.
[00:09:24] And that's part of why it took me so long to invest in a mastermind, frankly, because I could not find somebody that had the same high level of integrity and values that I hold, that I was willing to invest multiple five figures a year. In for a mastermind. I wouldn't follow somebody who is going to tell me to do something that I felt was unethical or lacked in integrity.
[00:09:46] Stu hit all of those things. And I knew that he would attract people who had that same high level of integrity. And it's been great. It's been fantastic. I always knew that was going to be a good investment. But the reason that I'm telling you about this today is that. I want you to have a similar sense of belonging because when we belong, that's when we can truly be strong.
[00:10:11] This is my little sound for the episode. I'm trying to get better at these sound bites, but yeah, we are strong when we belong or let's get cheesy with it. We are strongest when we belong. Just. Oh, please, please just shake your head and groan because I had to say it it's been in my head. It's been driving me crazy.
[00:10:27] And you guys need to know my weird, if you're going to be following me, that's just how it is. Right. So I will laugh at myself and my pathetic jokes as well. Get used to them. There are more coming, but. Even if you aren't in a place where you can invest in a high level mastermind, or maybe you're not making enough to qualify for some of the masterminds that you'd really like to be in yet, because I know as a bright entrepreneur, you are getting there and you will get there.
[00:10:56] Um, It is so important for you to at least find a larger community people that hold the same values as you. And this is something that is so important to me as I am at creating this new business around the bright future method. That I am sharing and teaching in my workshop is that I want it to be built with an intentional community of people around it that not only want to make a profit, but they really want to make an impact in the world.
[00:11:29] And they are transformation driven. Meaning you genuinely care. About getting your customers results. You want to see their lives completely transformed for the better, and you've created a business or you're in the process of creating a business that helps them get the transformation that they are a longing for.
[00:11:51] This is where my heart is, and this is what I want to invite you. Into, I'm going to be doing my bright future method workshop. Again, starting September 28th. I'm actually going to open the doors to it a few days before then. So if you want to get on the waitlist, you can go to bright future method.com and sign up via email.
[00:12:10] And if you are really one of my people, once you've signed up via email, there's a little button that will let you join via telegram as well, which is a, an an app it's a totally free app where we can communicate together. I can share more behind the scenes. You can actually comment back and have conversations with me.
[00:12:27] So it's a great opportunity there, but, um, this is part of what I'm doing with this. And if you don't feel like you have a community where you really belong, if you don't feel like you are surrounded by people who totally get you. Or maybe you are struggling and doubting. If you really have what it takes, if you can do this or worse, maybe you have people around you who doubt that you can do this, who are criticizing you and wondering when you're going to get a real job or maybe they just don't even understand what you're doing.
[00:13:01] Like my family is. Not criticizing me for what I do, but they don't understand it in the least it is huge mystery for them. They know, I know that I do something online that I've built this audience that people follow me and somehow I've convinced them to give me money and it works like that's pretty much all they get like, and I'm sure maybe you've.
[00:13:20] You got some, you know, family members who are like that, or maybe you have people who just tell you really negative things and really feed into your doubts and insecurities. And if that's you first and foremost, I'm sorry, because those are the, I mean, so many of us are self critical enough in the first place that to have other people saying those things to us can really be crushing.
[00:13:43] But I want you to know that that's not the case. That is not. True. I genuinely believe that you can do this. If you have this strategy and an offer that brings transformation and you want to make an impact in the world, all you need is somebody to walk you through the process, which is what my bright for future method workshop will do.
[00:14:04] So that is going to be opening up again in just a few days. Like I said, if you would like to be part of a community while also learning that high level strategy and learning how to build a community around your own business and bring true belonging to your own customers and build a movement around your business, who you can have, have your maximum impact in the world.
[00:14:30] I would love to see you in the bright method. Bright future method. Workshop would be good if I could even say my own thing without tripping over it. Hey, so anyways, that's there definitely sign up for that. And, um, you know, like I said, if you are one of those people who says, man, I really resonate with the values that I've explained already and the ones that you've heard here on the podcast, and you want to be a part of the community that I'm creating.
[00:14:55] Then definitely go sign up for the waitlist and join us in the bright future method workshop when it opens. So we'd love to see you there, but even if my community is not the one that you need to be a part of, I cannot stress enough. The importance of finding your own community and finding the people to support you.
[00:15:16] Because I don't care how strong you are. None of us are invincible. Even me, I have more confidence than just about anybody. I know I have very little negative. Self-taught talk in my mind. I've worked with really hard over the last two decades to really overcome those negative voices in my head. I don't have a lot out of insecurity.
[00:15:36] They're there, but not very many compared to a lot of people. I know which I'm thankful for, but. Even, so I still struggle. I still have days where I doubt I still deal with burnout and anxiety. And I question if I should even move forward, even the most seemingly unshakeable around us struggle. Every single person.
[00:16:03] And when you have a safe community where you can be vulnerable, where you really belong and you know that they understand who you are, that is the most powerful. Way to overcome these dark moments and to be reminded that you do have what it takes, you can do this and that there are people cheering you on who want to show up for you and with you who are going to help you get.
[00:16:34] To the success you're dreaming of, they're going to help you be that bright entrepreneur as bright entrepreneurs we band together and we support each other. We don't criticize you each other and feel competitive and negative ways. And yeah, all of that nastiness when none of that is. Part of the community that I'm building.
[00:16:53] And if people come in and they show that they are out, like I will absolutely refund somebody and kick them out if they are bringing negativity and, um, CRI criticism to the group or just spam too. But that's a side note anyways. So, um, if this sounds like something you could really use in your business, I mean, besides the fact that you get incredible strategy, you're going to get clear messaging.
[00:17:18] You're going to learn how to build an intentional focus strategy. So you know what you should be doing in your business. You get the big picture so that you can grow fast, right? You slow down, you figure out the plan so that you can go quickly. Like you get all of that. But even if you didn't the community and the support alone are worth.
[00:17:39] Every penny and we're going to be doing some incredible things. Richard Ralston is going to come in and set up accountability groups for us. He's been doing this with my beta group for the last several weeks. And it has helped us continue making progress in our business week after week after week. Like no other accountability setup I've ever seen has.
[00:18:02] And we're going to implement that. Into the bright future method workshop during the eight weeks that we're doing it and then beyond as well. And so if this is something that you want to be part of and you really want this community, it would be worth it for that alone. So anyways, would love to see you there.
[00:18:18] Go sign up for the waitlist. It's not open yet, unless you're listening to this after September 21st. Um, and before the 28th, when the doors closed, so that's the window for it to be open. And I would love to have you be part of it. So go sign [email protected]. And if you really are an insider sign up for telegram as well, you'll see how to do that.
[00:18:39] After you've signed up for email. And with that, my friends, I will catch you in the next episode. It's been wonderful, but here's the thing I want you to remember this. I mean, I say this at the end of every episode. No, but it's true. I really mean this. We are brighter together and the world genuinely needs us, so let's go out and let's make it brighter. .
