In this episode of the Pawareness Podcast, we welcome Robin Coleman, Community Engagement Manager of Woods Humane Society. Based in San Luis Obispo County, Woods Humane Society has been offering services to animals for over fifty years. They provide shelter and care for at least 3,000 cats and dogs a year.

Robin shares one factor that contributes to the success of a rescue organization. A supportive community that is friendly towards animals is more likely going to help a rescue organization thrive. Woods Humane Society strives for animals of all ages to be adopted and helps potential owners through the process.

Aside from the active adoption opportunities in their community, volunteers also express interest in helping their organization. Over the years, it’s the community that drives them to achieving their goals.

“We still have a lot of work to do in this community. It’s definitely not easy, but we are lucky to live in an animal-friendly open adoption community. We all need kindness. We all need compassion.” - Robin Coleman

Tune it to learn how to support your local animal shelters and rescue organizations!
