In this episode of the Pawareness Podcast, we welcome Lindsay Smith, founder of Oliver’s Safe Haven Dog Rescue. Lindsay recalls how she started her own rescue. After saving a dog from getting euthanized due to a broken leg, she decided to keep the dog forever. She named him Oliver. Since then, she finds the promising purpose of fostering more dogs and helps interested owners to foster homeless dogs.

Lindsay also shares how she welcomes new dogs into her home and helps them adjust in their new environment. She encourages dog owners to take their time in letting old and new dogs interact so they can get to know each other and avoid conflict. Today, Lindsay is an active volunteer in her community in helping rescues and foster dogs find suitable homes and loving families.

“If more people would give rescues a chance, we wouldn’t have a problem with dogs needing homes.”  - Lindsay Smith
