Former big league catcher J.D. Closser stops by the podcast to share what he's learned by being in professional baseball for 20 years. J.D. explains what it feels like to be drafted out of high school at the age of 18 and how he had to learn how to handle pitchers. When J.D. was in high school he was able to call his own game and he talks about how that gave him an advantage once he got into pro baseball. After his playing career J.D. took a job with the New York Yankees and eventually became their Catching Coordinator. He describes what that position entails and how he assisted and helped coaches and players.
