From Amanda,
I have an extreme passion for speed and power. I dedicated my university career to competing in CIS (Canadian Inter University Sports) track and field for the University of Regina as a sprinter for five seasons. While competing,  I captured many national standards and university sprint records such as fastest female sprinter in the 60 meter, 300 meter and 4 x 200 meter relay. As the top sprinter at my university I competed at a high level of competition finishing top 3 in the Western Conference 60 meter race. This lead to qualifying for Canadian track nationals where I competed in two Olympic trials for the 100 meters as well as 200 meters.
After achieving my Bachelors of Kinesiology degree and being one of the top CIS 60 meter sprinters in Canada I was approached by the Canadian Olympic Bobsleigh and Skeleton community to come compete in both winter sports. I moved to Calgary, Alberta where I spent my time training at the Canadian Winter Sports Institute with many Olympic Athletes working on my speed and power as a Bobsled and Skeleton Athlete. After competing with the Canadian Winter Sport program I finished 18th nationally in Skeleton and was placed on the North American Cup Circuit. Because of my achievements in sport, companies have reached out to me to represent them as their athlete ambassador for their brand.
I was able to work with Canada’s best Olympic coaches and was trained to push my limits and even apply this to my passion for training other athletes. I then was driven to educate myself further to become a coach and trainer for others. I wrote and completed my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam, Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) exam as well as Certified Coaching Certificate Level 3. This allows me to work with elite athlete at the highest level.
I looked to broaden my horizons by competing in a beauty pageant. I used my athleticism to my advantage by showcasing my weightlifting skills for the talent portion. My platform was to bring awareness to ‘Go Grey in May’ which is Brain Cancer Awareness Month. I worked closely with the Canadian Cancer Foundation raising money and putting on events in an effort to help raise awareness. This cause is close to my heart for my Father, Edward Ruller, lost his battle to brain Cancer in 2013. I was awarded Miss Talents as well as Miss Congeniality, Miss Bikini, Miss Petite Southern Saskatchewan and placed top 5 overall for Miss Petite Canada.
I have a background in Olympic lifting and am currently on the Saskatchewan Olympic Lifting team for 58kg. This type of training is challenging to learn and I am happy to pass on my knowledge to others seeking more practice in this field of weight lifting.

I then decided to use my speed for another sport in the Legends Football League. I broke onto the football scene with a strong rookie season with the LA Temptation, competing in all five regular season games, helping propel the Temptations to a second place finish in the Western Conference, along with securing a playoff spot. Posting a remarkable time of 4.75 in the 40-yard dash, I am not only ranked third on the Temptation in rushing, I led all rookies, respectively. My rushing totals accounted for 11% of the Temptation’s rushing attack with my longest run representing 20 yards. I am now one of the rushing leaders for the Legends Football League ranked seventh in receiving yardage. I currently play for the Atlanta Steam in Atlanta as their Running Back for the LFL!
This summer I have the opportunity to represent my country in the Women’s Football World’s Championship! I am competing for Team Canada in Women’s 11’s in Vancouver, BC June 21-July 1st, 2017! I am excited to be competing in World’s for 2017 in a sport I love!
Hope you enjoy!
