Alcohol is the most widely used substance of abuse among America's youth. People aged 12 to 20 years drink 11% of all alcohol consumed in the United States. More than 90% of this alcohol is consumed in the form of binge drinks.


Since the brain doesn’t fully develop until about the age of 25. Drinking is more harmful to teens than adults. ----more----Drinking during this critical growth period can lead to behavioral problems and brain function, particularly as it relates to memory, motor skills, and coordination…Changes in brain development that may have life-long effects.

Our guest today is Raunda Frank a Prevention Coordinator for Behavioral Health Services, Inc. where she oversees the alcohol and drug prevention programs for the Los Angeles County Beach Cities of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach.


She provides strategic direction and leadership to staff and local prevention community council members to implement prevention education programs and advance environmental policy objectives such as social host liability ordinances.
