Over 65% of parents surveyed report supporting the idea of spanking children, just not in school. On one hand there’s anecdotal evidence of its effectiveness—from interpretations of Biblical references to personal experiences. On the other hand, research shows that not only is spanking not an effective form of punishment, it can be harmful. Which route should Black parents follow?
