Samela St. Pierre is an artist and activist currently living on Kumeyaay land in San Diego, CA. Her work weeks are carefully strategized via bullet journal to include illustrating children's books for independent authors and publishers, her fourth and fifth published books are scheduled to release by holiday this year; figure modelling for fine artists and academies; one on one life coaching for a South American based company; leading (now digital) classes in yoga, flexibility and fitness; running her online Etsy shop and hand painting commissions for individual and corporate clients.

For fun, Samela equally loves hiking and camping in nature, as well as cuddling up with her dog Lucy, a cup of tea, and binge reading books. She's studied yoga for the last sixteen years from Iyengar in Italy to Kripalu in the Berkshires. She enjoys exploring new movements patterns and practices to supplement her yoga habit, from belly and pole dancing, to most recently: simply running. Samela and her husband Patrick have and continue to collaborate on major community projects from forest meditation labyrinths, wall murals in three states, sculptures in museums and houses of worship, and running events such as sustainable fashion shows, meditative mandala workshops and full moon drum circles. Her most meaningful work is done with and in service to the immigrant and refugee communities. Currently, that looks like working with the population at the US-Mexico border at Tijuana, and bringing supplies, art, yoga and other forms of expression to the children currently living in limbo there.
