Are you a person pleaser? Do you thrive on others praising you? Do you have a hard time taking care of yourself? Have you been feeling like you're not enough?

If you answered yes to any of these questions this is an episode for you! I had the opportunity to sit down with Jason Dimnik who is a youth pastor at the Cochrane Alliance Church! Jason has an amazing story and so much knowledge to share with the world. Jason has lived in Alberta all of his life and had a very supportive family. Jason has many passions like family, football, and loves cooking all kinds of foods!

A big part of his life was growing up with faith. He was very involved in the church and it was like his second home. There have been people in the church that have made an important impact in his life and helped him become the leader he is today. Leadership has been an ongoing part of Jason's life but so has people-pleasing and the feeling of not being enough. Jason discusses some of his challenges and how he continues to work on becoming a better person. Jason was reminded recently on his sabbatical that self-care is not selfish and is very important for personal growth. Often, when he was replenishing himself he would do more things for others to get praise and acknowledgment. Unfortunately, this was not serving him and he realized that in order to give he needed to take care of himself first.

Jason has served in many areas of the Christian ministry and has been a youth leader for many years now. Jason reflects on the impacts of covid on himself and the community of youth he works with. He loves to help people discover what they are meant to do and walk alongside them in their journey.
