Recent graduates in the field of education have a significant role to play in the lives of future students. And this role is essential.

After graduation, the path into the classroom can be a bit overwhelming. That is why new teachers, all teachers, need to practice self-care, as well. Taking care of yourself leads to taking care of your students. In episode 26, Andrea Knight from Creating Readers and Writers and I take our combined 40 years of experience in teaching and offer advice and tips for new teachers. We want to take this moment to welcome new teachers to education!

Hey! So today I am so excited to have my dear friend Andrea here to welcome new teachers into the tribe of teaching. Andrea has always been a gift to other teachers, most notably for me. She offers practical advice for teachers who are just starting out in this big world of education. We hope you will join us as we pay tribute to our graduating teachers!

Before we start the show, I have to tell you that Andrea and I spent like 45 minutes chatting away at the beginning of the show. We had a hard time getting down to business. So we had a few false starts. But I had to leave one of them in there because it cracks me! So be patient we do actually start the conversation.
