Thanks for joining me for this weeks episode of One For The Road. This week I am joined by James Veck-Gilodi from the English alternative rock band Deaf Havana.

After many years battling alcohol and substance addiction, in 2020 after the break down of his marriage and his relationship with his brother in ruins, Deaf Havana decided to call it a day and walk away. They booked shows to cover their remaining debts and after that, Deaf Havana would be finished. Then COVID happened. The shows were cancelled, and the band didn’t have to think about their future for a long time. It took until April 2021 after several failed attempts, for James to take the leap and attend an AA meeting and he has been sober ever since. On this weeks episode James shares with us what that journey looked like for him, and how by removing just one thing from his life, alcohol, he was able to rebuild the damaged relationships and breathe new life into Deaf Havana once more, as the band re grouped and created a brand new album within three weeks.
