Adding up to the Routine

[01:22]

It's all about adopting a tiny bit of anything every day that will add up to something significant in the end. It is much similar to the compound effect.

Personal Steps to Self-Improvement

[02:21]

Sarah listens to a podcast on her way to work, cleaning the dishes, or walking the dogs - small tasks Sarah already performs. She fills with a podcast episode in her day, which has a little bit of blank space.

[03:42]

Sarah proceeded to pick up a book and begin reading. Thus, she attempted to choose a different book for self-improvement each month but occasionally did not finish the first month's selection, so she carried it over to the second month. However, Terri wishes to read 12 different self-improvement books in a year. Thus, she began with simply five to ten minutes per day, which she reads every single day.

[05:06]

Sarah makes an effort to maintain an exercise program; she attempts to take care of her body. If you're not fuelling your mind, body, and spirit, if you're not taking care of them, you're going to feel off in some manner. And Sarah thought it was fascinating because it's true; if you don't take care of your mind, your body, or your spirit, you're going to miss something, you're going to feel strange.

[06:29]

Self-improvement projects don't have to be enormous. But in the long run, those two times of spinning per week, that book, and that podcast episode will help you with your mind and body. And a year from now, you'll be a different person because of what you're doing well. Whatever you decide to do, after a year, you'll be in a completely different space. A complete redesign of your life isn't required if you're sick and tired of being trapped in the same spot right now. Minor modifications might add up to significant changes.

Taking Actions

[07:38]

You must begin by adapting one thing at a time and determining what works for you. You are neither correct nor incorrect. In either case, anything you do to improve yourself will make you feel better. The more you contribute to self-improvement, the more you will improve yourself and feel better about yourself.

Skills and Self-Improvement

[08:09]

Taking an online course, for example, is a great way to grow your mind and intellect and broaden your horizons and learn something new. When you know new things, it challenges you and helps you strengthen specific brain muscles.

[08:33]

The thing about owning your own business is that you are constantly learning new skills. Sometimes you'll learn new skills through an online course, or you'll work with a business coach, or you'll just read some training materials that will assist you, but it's going to require you to venture outside your comfort zone. Additionally, it instructs you on how to perform new tasks. As a result, it broadens your mind, broadens your view, broadens your thinking, and gives you something to look forward to. Additionally, it enables you to embrace a challenge.

Podcast Impact

[10:21]

Terri appreciates some encouragement in the confidence-building and challenges that the podcasts provide daily to help you get motivated and remind you why it's critical to conduct these self-development activities.

Filter Unhealthy Thoughts

[12:02]

What you feed your brain and what you consume has a significant impact on your mental and emotional health. Therefore, ensure that anything you engage with your thoughts benefits you and will not harm you. You don't want to add any additional toxicity to your life.

[13:03]

If outside stimuli provoke you, sit down with a piece of paper and start writing thankfulness affirmations. Developing your thinking and self-development is another approach. Because when you start focusing on the things you're thankful for, it's hard to be sad or furious. It's hard to have those emotions because it puts you in a different perspective.

Devoting Time to Essential Things

[13:36]

Self-development involves valuing yourself, putting limits around your time, and sticking to your calendar. It means turning off your phone and focusing on your family during family and dinner time. Give yourself some boundaries, such as not being addicted to anything for too long.
