This week’s episode of Omonye’s Corner is the second of the degree workshops!
I spoke to my good friend Kristen about Film and Television Production. In this episode, we explored Kristen’s journey to her chosen degree, how it’s going so far, key advice on entering the creative industry, and just general boss energy!

Here are the resources for this week’s episode! Be sure to take a look!

Kristen’s Top 10 Tips!
1. Experience – This is a field where degrees aren’t going to get you as far as you hope.
2. It’s about who you know, not what you know.( it’s who you know that gets you in the door, and what you know that keeps you there).
3. Get a degree.
4. Don’t limit yourself.
5. Try as many possible routes as you like.
6. Being a runner, is one of the best things – I know it can be tedious but it’s the best way to learn what everyone does on set.
7. Talking – this industry isn’t for the shy ones!
8. There are so many free courses out there, take advantage of them ( Young Vic, BFI )
9. Watch as many things as possible – good , bad, just be an open viewer.
10. First impressions count.

Kristen has kindly provided her email, for if you have any questions. Also, Kristen sometimes has runner jobs that she can’t do, but she is able to make recommendations.
This is a great opportunity so please take advantage of it if you’re interested in this industry!
