Born and raised in Omaha NE Andrew aka Andy McCormick witnessed both his parents get let go after spending years climbing the corporate ladder. Andy, like most of us, would follow that same path for a bit, working in the automotive industry specializing in collision repairs. He saw an opportunity to work less hours and make more money if he switched to Paintless Dent Repairs (PDR), so being the resourceful guy that he is, Andy used the first time home buyer’s stimulus check when he bought his 1st personal residence in 2008 to pay for his Paintless Dent Repairs certification. Though it proved to be very lucrative for him, that wasn’t enough to justify the amount of work Andy had to do to maintain the business. Enter Real Estate Investing. I’m 2016, Andy decided that he wanted to flip foreclosures. After attending a few auctions he secured his first auctioned house that would launch his investing career. Today, Andy owns 18 single family rentals, has flipped and still flips multiple homes and operates 2 self service car washes. Andy’s Failing Forward reminds us of the importance of proper due diligence, especially when buying foreclosures as they tend to have all kinds of surprises that could be the difference between success and failure on a project.
