On Sunday July 10, 1977 in Claremore, Oklahoma, 18 year old Laura Long and her parents did what they did every Sunday to prepare for the week ahead. They washed their cars and filled up their gas tanks. Laura had just received a new car as a high school graduation present, and like any teenager with a new car, she took great pride in the upkeep. On this particular Sunday, Laura went to fill her gas tank before her parents. As she was heading back, she passed her parents as they went to fill their car. They waved to each other. No one could have known that was the last time Laura’s parents would ever see her alive.
