Depletion.

The Avalanche get back into the win column against San Jose, and take the game 4-3. Yes, you heard that correctly; the Avs finally scored four goals in a game! It resulted in a win. This game showed an increased effort level, and it looked like the Avs actually had a bit of jump in their step, finally. Gabe Landeskog and Nate MacKinnon continued to impress. Some shaky defense still, but they got it done.

The game against the Kings, however, was a gong show. It was a really odd, and almost awkward game, and for some reason the Kings have the Avs’ number this season. Quick played a great game, and even stopped a penalty shot. The Avalanche did not have much of a push back for the majority of this one, and in the process of losing to one of the leagues lowest ranking teams; we also lost our MVP in MacKinnon. He should only be out one to two weeks, but any time without him will be difficult to say the least.

Makar draws back into the line-up against the Rangers, so hopefully he’s the start of everyone returning healthy. It is needed.
