Mayor Eric Adams took a trip to Latin America this week to get a first-hand look at the journey migrants take to cross the border and to dissuade people from seeking asylum in the five boroughs. NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza has been following Adams on his tour of Mexico City and Puebla, as Adams met with officials and business leaders. Cuza, along with political anchor Errol Louis and statehouse reporter Bernadette Hogan, weighed in on Adams’ four-day trip. Cuza also broke down the mayor’s agenda and gave updates from the ground.

Additionally, this week, Adams told reporters he would be taking off-topic questions only once per week and held a press conference designed solely for this purpose. This comes as the mayor faces criticism over the city’s handling of last week’s heavy rainfall and flooding. The team looks at the city’s preparedness and Adams’ new approach to taking questions from the press corps.
