The Bible begins with a picture of God and His children, Adam and Eve, living a life of close relationship with one another in actual physical presence together. When human sin forces exile, the rest of scripture is about how God restores His relationship with His children, including us.  Over and over, He promises that there will come a day when He will be our God, and we will be His people. The full restoration of that relationship and presence awaits us at the return of Christ; HOWEVER, on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit is poured out upon Jesus’ followers, God comes to dwell within His people here and now. We walk in the same Spirit and promise as the first Christians 2,000 years ago, but do we walk out the fullness of what’s been given us?
