The research showed that the four common things that those who lived 9 extra years free from the chronic disease had in common were a healthy BMI, daily activity, alcohol intake, and smoking. To prevent and reverse chronic disease, it is important to understand why you are making the changes and how it will impact the people and things you love. It is also important to focus on 4 main pillars; quality sleep, daily movement, eating well and having a positive mindset. Lastly, it is important to pair proteins, carbs, and healthy fats together when eating to help stabilize blood sugar.
Fortunately, preventive measures such as lifestyle changes can be implemented to help reverse or prevent chronic disease. A habit-based approach is an effective strategy for creating a healthier lifestyle and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Not only does this approach focus on building healthy habits, but also provides an opportunity for increased knowledge about one’s own health and well-being.
