Ugandan evangelist killed for converting Muslims

On September 6th, Ugandan Muslim extremists beat a 33-year-old Christian evangelist to death for leading Muslims to faith in Kituuti, reports Christian Headlines.

Mudenya Sirasi said Philip Bere led many people to Christ at the event, including Muslim women and two young Muslim men.  That’s what infuriated the Muslim extremists.

Mudenya said, “One man, who was stationed in front of us, grabbed our bicycle that we were riding on and hit Phillip with a blunt object on his back. I could see the attackers brutally injuring my friend. One of the attackers hit him with a big stone, and he bled to death. Our evangelist was killed because of his passion for preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ, especially to Muslims.”

Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring Good News.”

The attack was the latest of many instances of persecution of Christians in Uganda that Morning Star News has documented.

Senator presides over Senate in gym shorts & sneakers

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, recently announced that the Senate would no longer enforce a dress code, reports Fox News.

Days later, Democrat Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania presided over the Senate in a short-sleeve shirt, gym shorts, and sneakers.

Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming was outraged.

LUMMIS: “I’ve never seen civility enhanced or a sense of decorum enhanced by dressing like a slob. When senators are allowed to go on the Senate floor dress like slobs it will degrade behavior.”

Republican Senator Roger Marshall was not pleased either.

MARSHALL: “I just think the people of Pennsylvania are embarrassed. I’m embarrassed for them.”

Senator Fetterman defended himself.

FETTERMAN: “Aren’t there more important things to be talking about rather than whether I’m dressed like a slob?

“I mean, I feel it’s, you know, a little more freedom which should be bipartisanship. You know what I’m saying. So, but I don’t know why the right side seems to be losing their minds over it. Like dogs and cats are living together and, you know, like the world’s spinning off its axis. But, you know, I think it’s a good thing, but I’m going to use it sparingly and just glad that it’s here.”

Ironically, visitors entering the Senate chamber are not off of the hook, and must appear in the proper business attire.

Rupert Murdoch steps down from Fox News

Rupert Murdoch, the 92-year-old founder of Fox News Channel, announced yesterday that he’s stepping down, reports the Associated Press.

Fox News Channel has profoundly influenced television and national politics since its start in 1996, making Murdoch a hero to some and a pariah to others. The 24-hour network converted the power and energy of political talk radio to television. Within six years, it outrated CNN and MSNBC, and still does.

Besides Fox News, Rupert Murdoch started the Fox broadcast network, the first to successfully challenge the Big Three of ABC, CBS and NBC, with shows like “The Simpsons.”

He owns The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. He slimmed his corporate holdings with the 2019 sale of many entertainment assets to the Walt Disney Co.

His son, Lachlan, will take over.

Paw Patrol cartoon spin-off features non-binary character

The popular cartoon series “Paw Patrol” introduced a new “non-binary” character on one of its spinoff shows, making it one of several series to push sexually perverse storylines in children’s programming, reports The Christian Post

A writer on the children’s TV series “Rubble & Crew,” a spinoff of “Paw Patrol,” took to Instagram on September 2nd to announce that a newly aired episode of the Nickelodeon program featured a non-binary character. The term non-binary refers to those who do not identify as either male or female.

Lindz Amer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to write an episode of “Rubble & Crew,” noting that “they brought me on to consult on the first nonbinary character” and “write their episode.”

Amer, who uses “they/them” pronouns, don’t you know, and identifies as “the queer Mr. Rogers,” described the experience as “a bucket list item. I wanted to write a non-binary character that was aspirationally cool, someone for the pups (and kids at home to look up to).”

Matthew 18:6 warns, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

Spokane, Washington Mayor in hot water for getting prayer

And finally, several Christian residents in Spokane, Washington, protested plans by the city council on September 11th to censure or formally rebuke Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward for attending the “Let Us Worship” event hosted by Christian activist and worship leader Sean Feucht, reports The Christian Post.

On August 20th, former state legislator-turned-pastor Matt Shea with On Fire Ministries & Kingdom Christian Academy prayed over her among other city leaders.

Listen.

SHEA: “Father God, we pray a blessing over the leaders you have chosen for this time. Lord, give them courage, Your courage, to stand on the foundation, the rock, Jesus Christ. Give them, right now Lord, your unwavering ability to speak the truth into the darkness. And no matter what anybody says around them, they will glorify and honor and praise You in every single thing they do. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.”

1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

The God-haters were especially upset that Pastor Shea prayed that prayer  just a minute after he declared that homosexual faux marriage and transgender issues “have one answer, and His name is Jesus Christ,” according to Range Media.

Rebecca Murakami, who is a member of Shea’s church, told Range Media just before the meeting that she believes the planned censure of Woodward could be an effort to silence Christians.

She asked, “If the city council wants to stop her from doing that, do they want to silence all Christians? What is the plan behind that? One thing leads to the next.”
