HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION!

Welcome back to the weekly podcast, No More Excuses.

Mistakes.

Ugh! I hate them. I’m a “recovering perfectionist”, and it’s still hard to see that mistake sometimes. We all make them personally and professionally.

• Personally, it can be something so silly like choosing the wrong check-out line or missing your exit. [And yes, I’m sure some of you are thinking you chose the wrong person to date or marry lol. Been there.]

But with all of those things, what did you learn?

Perhaps to pay more attention? Or to ask more questions or to not make hasty decisions! Like failures, mistakes happen so you can learn.

Yeah, it can be painful and expensive, so what are you going to do about it?

A big shift for me years ago was to understand that things happen for a reason! You'll have to listen in and hear how that shift happened!

What do you do when you make one?

Especially when it’s professional and includes a client, or something more public.

Sometimes it’s hard to admit you made a mistake. It hurts the ego and self-image. It also, like I mentioned, and you’ve probably experienced, it can cost you money and that hurts as well!

Trust me, I’ve been there MANY times! Making mistakes creates the opportunity to learn as well as for growth.

Listen in as I share two big mistakes I made, one was in front of 250+ people and the other cost me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!

What about you? Have you owned a mistake… big or small? What did you learn?

Admitting you’ve made a mistake can help you be respected more, and viewed a stronger leader, because you are HUMAN!

One of my favorite sayings is:

“Slow Down to Speed Up!”

I’d love to hear from you! Share a mistake, what you learned and how you can SLOW DOWN to SPEED UP!
