But last month, scientists found a Sir David's echidna! It was on a mountain in Indonesia. They weren't looking for it. They put video cameras outside. The cameras took videos of animals. The scientists looked at the videos later. Then they saw the echidna! They were very surprised!

Sir David's echidnas are cool. Their nose is twenty centimeters long! These echidnas blow bubbles from their nose to cool down.

They make holes in soft dirt with their nose. They make holes to find food.

These echidnas have quills. Quills are sharp and spiky. When an echidna is scared, it rolls into a spiky ball! No animals want to touch a spiky ball!
