Coronavirus in the US approach 3 million with Arizona, Florida, and Texas continuing to be hot spots. Several medical facilities, especially in urban centers, are quickly reaching ICU capacity and there are growing reports of testing shortages and long waits for results. Amid this surge, President Trump called on states to reopen schools in the fall but without funding or help on exactly how they are supposed to do that. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro tested positive for COVID19 after months of downplaying the risk of the virus.

Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg met with leadership from the Anti-Defamation League, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Color of Change and other groups organizing an advertisement boycott of the company over its handling of hate speech on the platform. It did not go well. Facebook also failed its own cividl rights audit which found Facebook was not doing enough to stop the spread of hate speech.
