Mermaid fever had gripped the region decades earlier thanks to another local Connecticut guy name P.T. Barnum who introduced the world to the Feejee Mermaid in the 1840s.

Her head was found almost 500 feet away. The murder shocked the community to the point where it’s still mentioned in whispers today.

Revere’s Ghostly Pirate

Some say that treasure is still out there.
