Terry Tucker has been many things in his professional career. He has been a hospital administrator, a manager for an academic publishing company, a police officer, a business man and a basketball coach. However, his greatest challenge came in early 2012 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Acral Lentiginous Melanoma which first appeared at the bottom of his foot which later metastasized to a lymph node in his groin.

He had to undergo two surgeries to remove the tumors and then took weekly injections of the drug, Interferon to keep the disease from coming back. In this episode, Terry explains his realizations about the pain and discomfort he went through, and what he has done to survive.

He later wrote a book, Sustainable Excellence, Ten Principles To Leading Your Uncommon and Extraordinary Life to help people find and live their purpose. The book is available on all online bookstores such as Amazon and Barnes&Noble. He has also become a motivational speaker talking on podcasts and radio shows.
