NerdNEWS
We try to keep it happy around here, but unfortunately, that’s not always possible.
We’re saddened to share the news about DC Comics, DC Collectibles aka  DC Direct (Action figures), and DC Universe (streaming service) layoffs  — “blood bath” — that occurred this week.
DC Direct, the company’s in-house merchandise and collectibles manufacturer. The division has been shuttered after 22 years!
The Hollywood Reporter has word that a shocking third of DC Comics’ editorial staff were part of Monday’s roughly 600 layoffs at WarnerMedia
Editors:

Brian Cunningham
Mark Doyle
Andy Khouri

Andy formed a major part of DC’s complete rebranding and organization of its comics output in the establishment of the Black Label line a few years ago.
Senior members of DC’s editorial operations:

Senior VP of publishing strategy and support services Hank Kanalz,
VP of marketing and creative services Jonah Weiland (the founder of comics journalism site Comic Book Resources, who had only joined DC in 2019)
VP global publishing initiatives and digital strategy Bobbie Chase, who has helped spearhead DC Comics’ hugely successful push into YA and kids-focused graphic novels

However, Jim Lee, DC’s chief commercial officer, remains in place.

What are Brand Principles?
Brand Principles are Subjective. They are the “Brand Management” or “Brand Strategy” of your brand. Brand Principle are what are self-evident about a brand.
Brand Values are in contrast, and are Objective. They are beliefs, and opinion of the Brand. See our episode on Apple for Values.
Amazon is guided by four principles:

customer obsession rather than competitor focus
passion for invention
