In this episode, Josh and Ian discuss the political implications and cultural uses of lying. They begin by talking about the increasing digitization of people's private information, and how the internet necessarily conceals intent by both governments and corporations. Then they move into discuss the issues of trust, deceit, and political narratives in the ongoing spread of memetic warfare, and unpack an example of a political meme at length.

After the break, Josh and Ian discuss the definitions of lying, and how the intent behind lies is used and what it reveals about the psychology of people doing the lying. They talk about how hyperbole has extended into the realm of mainstream media and the office of the Presidency and taken as truth; the intent to change the world in their image by our elected politicians; the tragedy of Mitt Romney; how the modern Democratic Party have morphed into a party of progressivism and aligned toward minority voters; and how intent in relationships form stronger bonds between people.
