Auraria in Lumpkin County was the thriving center of the Georgia gold rush for a time, now it's really just a memory. White Sulphur Springs in Hall County used to be a tourist destination. One of my favorite subjects to research so far has been the town of Cassville in Bartow County, which ended it's existence as a different town in a different county. Names are important.
