Proverbs 6:16-19; 10:19-21; 18:20-21 --
Words have impact. The author of Proverbs challenges the readers to watch what one says. This is more than behavior management — the greatest concern of our words is that it reveals our heart. Wisdom in the Bible deals with much more than learning facts or remembering information. It is a practice of synthesizing and applying the knowledge of God in our everyday lives. Ultimately, pursuing wisdom is an act of worship, as we gain insight towards righteous living from the True and Living God, who gives us his Spirit of understanding through Jesus.
