Surrey Councillor, Stephen Pettigrew tried at last night's council meeting to put a 'notice of motion' on the floor for public consultation to be held before moving to a municipal police force from the RCMP.

But the mayor, Doug McCallum, was having none of it saying it was the "wrong venue" for the notice of motion.
