Double winner

Anonymous courier in New York

A woman was rescued Monday after being trapped in the elevator of a Manhattan townhouse for three days, authorities say.

The woman was stuck in the elevator of a townhouse on East 65th Street near Madison Avenue, one block from Central Park, authorities said. The Associated Press reports the townhouse as being owned by a billionaire investment banker from Arkansas.

A courier raised the alarm when he tried to make a delivery and was unable to locate the woman. He called family members and she was eventually located in the elevator.

Firefighters rescued the woman, who worked for the family of the banker as a housekeeping employee, Monday around 10:10 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. Firefighters freed the women after forcing entry into the elevator.

Winner

Maryann Rolle, owner of the Exuma Point Bar and Grille in the Bahamas,

Lots of talk about that documentary on Netflix: ‘FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened’.

One of the contributors to that documentary is a woman called Maryann Rolle. She’s the owner of the Exuma Point Bar and Grille.

In the documentary, she tells her story about being conned by the festival organizer, Billy McFarland. She and her husband catered more than a thousand meals a day - but she is owed more than $100,000 by the festival.

Well she’s our winner today, because ever since the documentary was published on Netflix, a GoFundMe was created and so far it has raised over $200,000.

Rolle says she has recouped the $100,000 owed to her by the festival. And she does NOT plan on keeping all the extra cash - instead, she plans to give it to the thousands of local workers who were duped into working on the event.
