Winner #1

Anonymous cookie fan in South Carolina

A man in South Carolina has either a massive sweet tooth or just a warm heart...

He bought 540 dollars US - that's 700 Canadian - in Girl Scouts cookies so the youngsters could pack up and “get out of this cold.”

A young troop was selling cookies outside of a grocery store on Friday as temperatures were hovering around one degree Celsius, when a man approached the girls and purchased seven boxes of cookies.

He returned a short time later, and paid an extra $500 to clear out their stock.

Had he not done that, it would have taken the Girl Scouts another day or so to sell all of those cookies.

Winner #2

Stephen Dalton from Waterford, Ireland

Our winner today is responsible for some acts of kindness that have helped to change a man’s life.

62-year-old Jim Cleary became unemployed before Christmas, and couldn’t afford firewood to keep his home warm.

He went to a local shipping depot, and asked for some broken wood pallets that he could take home to throw in the fire.

That’s where he met a young employee called Stephen Dalton. In the weeks that followed, Stephen took it upon himself to help get Jim back on his feet.
