Port Moody Council has voted 4-3 to ask Mayor Rob Vagramov to go back to unpaid leave.
The Mayor said he will take the vote into consideration, but he doesn't legally have to leave.
Last March when Vagramov was charged with sexual assault, he took a leave of absence.
But last month he returned to work, even though the criminal case has not been concluded. Vagramov has maintained his innocence.
