Ride-hailing companies could begin operations in British Columbia by next fall under legislation introduced yesterday. Transportation Minister Claire Trevena says the government's bill strikes a balance between meeting consumer demand and protecting public safety. In regards to the question of when ride-hailing cars will be on the roads, Minister Trevena said they're waiting on ICBC to develop insurance for ride hailing drivers.
Now, a ride hailing expert says BC's legislation isn't perfect, but it's the best the province can do.
