Visualization is something we do all day long, whether or not we are consciously aware of it. What we can envision in our minds can create a stress response, a physical response, or a relaxation response. So the images you feed your mind are so impactful on your moment to moment experience. The easiest demonstration of this is in thinking about a super sour lemon. Imagine holding that lemon in your mouth and biting in. Salivating? I’d be surprised if your weren’t! I’m salivating just writing this.
When we are in pain, we unconsciously envision what is happening in our bodies. We imagine brokenness, we imagine tension, we imagine future disability. We don’t even realize we are doing this, so if you can reflect and notice that your images of your body are not strong, healthy and sturdy – it’s time to envision a new body. This episode will help inspire you to create a new reality for you.
Discussed in the episode:
Steve Ozanich’s The Great Pain Deception
You Are the Placebo with Dr. Joe Dispenza
Meditations with Rasa Lukosuite
