I am your host, Mike Murphy ( I’m a one man band and technology junkie, who loves to help people figure things out). I am really excited to be here with you today. The goal of Mike Murphy Unplugged is to help you learn what you need to know in order to create online content so you can move forward in business and in life.

Episode 57 is is Part 1 of Audio 101. Today we learn the basics and fundamentals of audio that all podcasters in the pre-production and recording stage of podcasting. I will define and simplify several common audio terms and concepts that I wish I knew before I started podcasting.

Episode 58 will be Part 2 of Audio 101 and focus on post-production and editing. I will define and simplify editing and post-processing terminology and techniques most commonly used in podcasting once the podcast has been recorded.

By the end of this Audio 101 series you will have a solid understanding of the principles and terminology associated with recording and editing podcasts and a clear overview of the entire recording and editing process.

The goal of this Audio 101 series is to simplify the audio engineering part of podcasting that can be very intimidating and overwhelming for most new podcasters. This is the stuff I wish I understood better when I was getting started.

There are a lot of terms and lingo in the audio world and this series will break it all down for you in easy to understand language.
