Do you know that there is a war going on inside your heart? Arrayed on one side are doubt and fear, fueled by your sinful nature’s desire to deny God’s promises and his ability to keep those promises. On the other side is trust, fueled by your faith in Christ your Savior. The trouble is that doubt and fear often get the upper hand, but thanks be to God! We have a Savior who not only overcomes our doubts and fears, but he fills our hearts with trust in him. How? Through his holy Word, which becomes our refuge from doubt and fear.

The Bible reading for this message is Isaiah 6:1-8.
