What awaits saints weary from the struggles of cross and temptation? Jesus fills our hearts with hope and strength. He calls us blessed even in the face of suffering and persecution and mourning in our lives. Jesus can make such bold statements of blessing because he knows the eternity of his grace that awaits his faithful people in heaven. Like reading the last chapter of a book, Jesus takes the mystery out of a life filled with sorrow by showing us the end, the outcome of life lived trusting in God’s strength. Heaven is ours. All the weak children of God can rejoice and be glad because Christ has made his blessed saints!
