Sean discusses the following prompt from Bryan:

In light of everything happening in the world, I would love to hear your thoughts and discussion of how you feel about pop culture icons and their being viewed as “role models” for the younger generation.

It seems to be reaching a point now where someone who will not take a stand on something is automatically viewed as against that form of thinking. I don’t want this to be politically motivated but the best example I can come up with is this: it seems that gone are the days of Michael Jordan staying out of it by stating “Republicans buy shoes, too.”

I use that example to say this: my kids are beginning to value the opinions of someone like Chris Evans or Chadwick Boseman or Brie Larson as much as they do mine. Their visibility can instantly make them someone kids look up to, whether they “choose to be a role model” or not. They look up to these actors. Is it in the nature of this time we live in that actors (and athletes for that matter) should inherently try and act as a role model for kids? Do you believe this is a wrong approach?
