So you are emailing your database go you!

You are better than a lot of businesses that have set up Mailchimp accounts which get used approximately twice a year, once at Christmas and once at some other time they remember.

Email marketing has ebs and flows of popularity and success. 

Due to the incredible amount of emails sent daily it is easy to say ‘I won’t do that no one would read it anyway’

BUT with that strategy what if you miss a huge opportunity? 

We’re only as good as our content, and while you focus solely on growing an Instagram following, or LinkedIn following unfortunately that data is not yours.

So congrats if you are emailing your database regularly.. here’s for the real stuff.

In 2020 the average open rate of emails sent in Australia was 18.7% - now you might think that seems incredibly low, but please see my point above re: how many emails are sent a day.

So on a list of 500 you are reaching 93 people – in the words of someone brilliant (but I can’t remember who) if 93 people showed up at your office and gave you some kind of engagement… would you not be cheering?

So anything above 18% is good – anything under that, I would be asking if you’re asking too much of your list, emails should be in service of them not just asking them to buy all the time.
