Cobb and Marietta See Slight Gains in CCRPI Scores
The latest College and Career Ready Performance Index report shows that both Cobb and Marietta school districts are making significant strides in recovering from pandemic learning loss. Despite a minor decline in high school readiness in Cobb, both districts have seen considerable improvements in elementary and middle school readiness. Marietta's elementary readiness has jumped by 12 points, while Cobb Schools have seen a seven-point increase. Superintendent Grant Rivera lauded the educators and learners for their tireless efforts, noting Marietta's strong elementary progress score of 93.2, ranking among the top 20 statewide. Conversely, Cobb's progress scores remained stable across all grade levels, despite slight dips in elementary and middle school scores. Graduation rates for both Cobb and Marietta have slightly increased, surpassing the Georgia average of 84.9%. Brad Wheeler, the Chair of Cobb Board of Education, commended the Superintendent and his team for preparing students for life after graduation. State School Superintendent Richard Woods acknowledged the progress made across the state but stressed the need for continued investment in academic recovery.
