Dr. Will Cole is a functional medicine doctor and an absolutely incredible teacher. Our bodies all develop a lot of extra inflammation when we experience stress and fear, and Dr. Cole has so much information on how to help with that. We dive into the differences between conventional and functional medicine and how people can take care of their bodies, plus Dr. Cole has some great tips on how to optimize your health during self-quarantine:

1. Take a nap: Give your mind a rest by taking a quick nap. Research shows that a 15-minute nap can reduce stress.

2. Keep moving: Even though you are stuck inside, it's important to keep moving. Similar to meditation, exercise has been shown to improve anxiety and depression. Try a 10-minute at-home HIIT workout, jogging up and down stairs, or even a virtual barre or pilates class.

3. Put your phone down: Quarantine gives us plenty of opportunity to spend hours aimlessly scrolling on our phones. But constantly reading about the state of the world and playing the mental comparison game on social media can place a huge weight on your shoulders which ultimately increases stress hormones like cortisol. Practice putting your phone away for at least an hour a day minimum and replace it with movement, journaling, or reading a book.

***Our meditation begins at [44:15]!
