Coach Andy MacDonald (Coach Mac) brings years of experience training a diverse population of athletes from youth volleyball and soccer athletes to adult league hockey players and even professional women’s and semi-professional men’s football. Coach Mac is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Hockey Training Specialist (CHTS), USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach (USAW-1) and a certified Basic Life Support/CPR instructor with the American Heart Association. Coach Mac’s passion for improving sports performance revolves around hockey.
He gained this passion playing the sport his whole life including Div. II with both Lake Superior State University and The College of St. Scholastica where he earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. Coach Mac believes that all exercise programs should be science based.
In order to safely and properly train athletes and general population alike, Coach Mac continuously researches current best practices through accredited sources such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
