The morning before Marcus, Heidi, and the kids left for Georgia to begin the Appalachian Trail, Marcus spoke on rest, referencing Psalm 23.

St Patricks Day

Today Marcus shares the story of St. Patrick and what can happen when we trust God and walk through the doors He opens.  The passage was taken from Philippians 2:3-11.

Romans 16:1-16

Romans 16 is the final chapter of Paul's letter to the believers in Rome.  Paul opens this letter by addressing and commending 27 different people, by name, many he may have never met.  Marcus shares that Paul has a love for people that extends beyond the local church, but is part of a larger movement of sharing the love and grace of the gospel to the world.

The Bigger Picture

The beginning of the end in the book of Romans.  This is where Paul begins to wrap of this letter. Paul is reminder the readers of God's plan for bringing the gospel to the whole world.  God's plan for salvation began with the nation of Israel but there was a bigger picture, a greater goal. Romans 15:8-13

Lessons from a South Pacific Missionary

On December 30, Marcus shared a remarkable story about a missionary to the South Pacific.  In this story, Marcus focuses on the truth that what we think is our, time, money, resources, etc, are not actually ours and the freedom we receive when we recognize that all belongs to God. Scripture for this sermon is from Luke 6:27-36 & Luke 14:33

Week 3 of Advent: Peace

While on Christmas Break from Word of Life, Nathan leads our third week of Advent on Peace.  Todays scripture reading comes from John 12:25-27, however, in an effort to dig deep and develop a rich meaning of the way peace is used in scripture, Nathan teaches from Isaiah 26:1-4, Luke 2:8-4, and Philippians 4:2-7.

Mary's Faith

The original plan for this sermon was based in the Song of Zachariahs, however just prior to Sunday, Marcus was inspired to go a different direction.  On Sunday, Marcus focused on Mary's belief.  The sermon was based in Luke Chapter 1.

First Day of Advent: Hope

Living for someones else's good

On November 24, Marcus spoke on the "baseline of the gospel", living for someone else's good.  The passage is from Romans 15: 1-6, a continuation on our study through the book of Romans.

Vision Casting Sunday

October 21 was vision casting Sunday.  Marcus took a break from Romans to share a vision for Loon Mountain Ministry and the growth of this church.  It's not by any work of Marcus or anyone else at LMM; it's all God.  Scripture this week was taken from 1 Chronicles 28: 9-10, 20-21.
