Room for Improvement after First Loss of 2021-22

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Alex Micheletti joins the show as we recap the weekend for the Wild, which included their first loss of the season on Sunday. We look at where blame should be put, and focus in on Kirill Kaprizov having a quiet start, uneven goaltending and the penalty kill struggling to start the year. With Kaprizov, we try to figure out if it's more him trying too hard or getting frustrated by how teams are playing him so far this year. Kaapo Kahkonen wasn't great in his first start of the year, but the team did him no favors with several bad penalties. That being said there were a few goals that Kaapo needs to save in the future. We look at an off night for the defense, and increased traffic in front of the net being a problem they need to find a solution for. We finish by looking at what potential line changes the Wild may look at this week, including Rem Pitlick potentially making his first start of the year and who he may replace in the lineup. At 4-1, the Wild definitely have room for improvement but are still going to be in the hunt when all is said and done.
