The MLB Winter Meetings are underway and the Chicago White Sox need to be busy. The White Sox have been active in the month of December in recent years. The organization has "won the offseason" a few times since 2016 but has produced zero ALCS or World Series appearances from the destinction. Will the Sox try to get creative via the trade or will they make a splash to fill one of their many voids? Michael Conforto's name keeps popping up. Jacob deGrom's new deal with the Texas Rangers should make a White Sox fan blush. The Sox have never spent anywhere near what deGrom got from Texas. Throwing money at problems is not the South Side way. Nickel and dining our way through the off-season is more of the approach we as Sox fans are used to. The Nomar Mazara, Edwin Encarnacion, Ivan Nova type deals is more our speed. The rumor season is also underway. Could the Kansas City Royals really trade Salvy Perez to the Sox and could Lucas Giolito be on his way to Tampa for Brandon Lowe? The Winter Meetings... a time of hope, wonder and sometimes irrational thinking.
